Our story

About Himalayan Hidden Trails

A Nepali-owned trekking operator built on three things: senior local guides, small groups, and the trails most operators won't bother with.

Who we are

Born of Swoyambhu, walking with the world.

Himalayan Hidden Trails was founded in Kathmandu by a team of guides, porters and storytellers from the valleys we walk. We started because the big international operators couldn't tell you which family runs the teahouse in Lokpa, or why the bridge below Chumling sounds different in winter.

We are fully Nepali-owned and led. Profit stays in Nepal — wages, tips and lodge fees flow back to the families who walk with you. No middlemen, no franchise fees, no foreign HQ taking the margin.

What sets us apart

Three promises, every trek.

Senior local guides

Every group is led by a guide who grew up in the region you're walking. No fresh-out-of-Kathmandu hires, no language gaps.

Small groups

Maximum 8 trekkers per departure. One senior guide, one assistant. No 20-pax convoys, no rushed lunches.

Restricted valleys

Tsum, Nar Phu, Upper Dolpo, Limi, Mustang. Restricted-permit routes the buses don't reach — and the trails we've walked since before they opened to foreigners.

Plan with us

Tell us your dates. A senior guide replies in 4 hours.

No call centre, no sales agents. The person who answers your enquiry is the person who'll meet you at the airport.
